Guides

Using the Tool

Every guide is one task in the web tool — the exact clicks, in order. For the EA, the algo and the two chart indicators, each has a guide of its own on the Guides page.

Create an Account and Sign In

Free

No password. You sign in with a link sent to your email.

  1. Open the Tool Go to /app — or click Open the Tool anywhere on the site.
  2. Click Sign In Top-right of the tool. Enter your email and we send you a one-time sign-in link; open it on the same device.
  3. You Are In Your account is created on the first sign-in. Everything you save — edges, watchlists, portfolios, preferences — is stored on the account and follows you across devices.
The sign-in link expires after a short while and works once. If it has expired, just request a new one.

Find Your Way Around the Tool

Free

One icon rail on the left, one module at a time on the right.

ORBit Analyzer
The main workbench: filters on the left, the equity curve, the statistics breakdown and the validation workbench (out-of-sample, Monte Carlo, cross-instrument) as tiles.
ORBit Charts
Every trade of the current setup drawn on a real one-minute chart, one at a time.
ORBit Big Picture
The higher-timeframe read for the selected market: seasonality, COT positioning, news and fundamentals.
ORBit Observer
Take the setup to your own chart — the TradingView export and the NinjaTrader indicator — plus the Time and Place timing charts.
ORBit Assembler
Your saved edges, the Portfolio Builder and the prop-firm simulator.
ORBit EA
ORBit's MetaTrader 5 module: the EA download, WebRequest address, licence key, broker symbol mapping and the live EA Monitor.
ORBit Algo
ORBit's NinjaTrader 8 module: the algo download, the licence key (same key and same activation slots as the EA), and the Algo Monitor.

On a full-HD screen and wider the tool locks to one screen and each module is a dashboard of tiles; click a tile’s expand icon to focus it. On smaller screens the same modules stack vertically and the filters live in the drawer’s Setup group — Symbols, Filters and Saved Edges.

A guided tour runs the first time you open the tool. You can restart it any time from Quick Tour at the foot of the rail.

Pick a Market

Free · Pro

Nasdaq is free with every feature. The other fifteen markets are Pro.

  1. Open the Symbol Dropdown In the rail’s Symbols entry (below full HD) or the Filters tile (full HD and wider).
  2. Choose the Market Nasdaq (NQ) is free. Every other market shows a lock until you are on Pro — see Upgrade to Pro.
  3. Set Your Display Timezone Once Account → Preferences → Show times in. Every timestamp in the tool is relabelled into it; the opening range itself stays anchored to the real exchange open.

Set the Opening Range

Free

A preset range or any window you like, in 5-minute steps.

  1. Start with the Preset In the Filters, Opening Range starts on the New York 09:30–09:45 range. It is pre-computed and answers instantly.
  2. Or Choose Custom Pick Custom and set a start and end time. Windows snap to 5-minute marks and run from 5 minutes up to 16 hours. The first custom window on a market builds from one-minute bars in the browser, which takes a moment; after that it is cached.
  3. Set the Entry Trigger Entry decides what counts as a break: a touch (price reaching the range edge is enough), or a 5-minute or 15-minute candle closing beyond it. Candles close on the clock (09:35, 09:45 and so on), the same candles the chart shows.
A custom window that ends before 09:30 ET (an overnight range) unlocks the Close at NY open exit in the Target control, so the statistics measure the trade to the cash open instead of the session close.

Choose a Trade Type

Free

Eight ways to trade the same range — pick the one you actually take.

Breakout
Enter on the confirmed break, stop at the opposite edge (or your chosen fraction of the range). The default.
Reversal
The first break fails and price breaks out the opposite edge; you trade that second break.
Failed Breakout (FORB)
After a 5 or 15 minute close beyond the edge, the first close back inside the range on the same timeframe is the entry, traded back across the range. This close back inside entry is the default. Targets: the opposite edge, the range midpoint or the end of the day.
OR Close
A time entry at the range’s own closing price — the control group for every breakout idea. Direction is your pick.
Rebreak
After the first break, wait for a pullback to half a range inside, then enter on a second confirmed break of the same edge. Custom windows only.
Break and Retest
After the first break, a resting limit back at the edge (or a fraction inside it) fills on the retest. Custom windows only.
Reversal Rebreak and Reversal Break and Retest
The same two, run off the day’s reversal: price breaks one edge, then the opposite one, and that reversal break is the one that has to rebreak or be retested. Custom windows only.

Then set Target (end of day or a fixed 1, 2 or 3 SD multiple of the range) and Stop-loss (1, 0.75 or 0.5 of the range). The equity curve and every statistic recompute as you change them.

Risk Mode on the equity tile switches the curve between R and 1 Contract: every trade in money for one full contract, using that market’s real point value.

Add Filters

Free

Cut the history by the conditions you would actually see before the trade.

  1. Open the Filter Groups Day of week, volatility, relative volume, opening trend, overnight gap, prior-day result, the shape of the range itself, news days (FOMC, CPI, NFP, PPI and Retail Sales) — each is a group of chips in the Filters.
  2. Click a Chip to Include It Chips within a group combine with OR; groups combine with AND. Watch the sample count under the statistics — a filter that shrinks it below a few hundred trades is telling you something.
  3. Read the Breakdown The Analyzer tile shows every filter dimension side by side, so you can see which condition moves the numbers before you commit to it.
A filter that does not change the sample size is not doing anything. If the count stays put after you click a chip, that condition is already implied by the others.

A setting that does not apply to the current setup stays visible but greyed out, and has no effect until it applies again. When a heavier recompute takes a moment, an Applying Filters… pill shows in the bottom-left corner.

Save an Edge

Free

Freeze the whole setup — market, range, trade type, filters — under a name.

  1. Build the Setup Market, opening range, entry, trade type, target, stop and filters — whatever you want to keep.
  2. Click Save Edge At the top of the Filters. Give it a name; the tool stores every setting with it, plus a snapshot of its statistics.
  3. Find It Later Saved edges live in the Edges side-panel tab and on the Saved Edges tile of ORBit Assembler. The funnel icon loads the setup exactly; the pencil renames it; the trash deletes it. Clicking a card does not select it.
  4. Group Them Edges can be sorted into watchlists — rename a watchlist by clicking its name, and drag edges between lists.

A handful of example edges ship with every account so you have something to load on day one. Load one and save it as your own edge to send it to the ORBit EA; the examples themselves carry no Copy EA Code. On the ORBit plan each of your own edges has its own broker map picker.

Share an Edge or Import One

Free

A short link that rebuilds the exact setup on someone else’s account.

  1. Share On a saved edge, click the share icon. The tool uploads the setup and copies a link; anyone who opens it sees a preview before it is added to their own edges. A whole portfolio can be shared the same way from its card.
  2. Import Paste a share code or link into Import (next to Save edge). You see the name, market and statistics first, then confirm.
A shared edge carries its settings, not its data. Someone importing a Pro-market edge needs Pro to run it.

Check the Trades on a Chart

Free

Never trust a statistic you have not seen drawn on real bars.

  1. Open ORBit Charts The rail’s Charts module lists the recent trades of the current setup.
  2. Click a Trade It draws on one-minute (or five-minute) candles with the range box, the entry dot, the break arrow, the stop and the target — exactly as the engine simulated it.
  3. Switch the Result Unit The small arrow on the Result column header switches the ledger between R and 1 Contract (money for one full contract). The Result filter follows the unit you pick.
  4. Step Through the Ledger Use the arrows to move trade by trade. If a fill looks wrong, that is the day to investigate before you trade the idea.

Validate an Edge (Out of Sample · Monte Carlo · Other Markets)

Free

Three tests in the Analyzer’s validation workbench.

Out of Sample
Pick a split (70/30, 50/50 or 20/60/20). The in-sample part is where you built the edge; the out-of-sample part is the honest test. A blurred reveal keeps you from peeking until you choose to.
Monte Carlo
Reshuffles the trade sequence thousands of times. Four headline figures (median final result, share of profitable paths, 95th percentile drawdown and risk of ruin) sit above range bars running from the worst path to the best. In R, risk of ruin assumes a 100 R starting stake. Read the worst cases, not the median.
Cross Instrument
Runs the same setup on the other markets. An edge that only works on one market is more likely noise than structure.

All three live on the bottom-left tile of the ORBit Analyzer dashboard (below full HD, in the stacked Validation section).

Build a Portfolio

Free

Combine several saved edges into one equity curve.

  1. Open ORBit Assembler Saved Edges on the left, the Portfolio Builder on the right.
  2. Drag Edges onto the Builder Drag a card to the right onto the builder. To add several at once, drag a box downwards across the Saved Edges list, then use Add to Portfolio in the selection bar (or drag a selected card). The combined curve, drawdown and correlation update as you add.
  3. Decide on Risk Splitting Split risk divides your risk budget by the number of edges so the basket risks the same as a single edge would. Risk Mode → 1 Contract shows the portfolio in money instead, one full contract per edge (Split Risk does not apply there).
  4. Name and Save It Saved portfolios appear under the Saved Edges list. Load puts it back on the builder; the pencil renames it; the trash asks for confirmation before deleting — the edges inside are kept.

Run the Prop Firm Simulator

Free

How often would this setup pass a given evaluation?

  1. Find the Prop Firm Tile On the ORBit Assembler dashboard, below Saved Edges.
  2. Enter the Rules All inputs sit in the left column: the firm, your sizing, the challenge and the funded account. Profit target, maximum daily loss, maximum drawdown and whether it trails; a consistency rule has two fields, Max Daily Profit under the challenge and under the funded account. Pick a well-known firm’s preset or type your own.
  3. Choose the Sizing Position Sizing is a percentage of the initial balance or a number of contracts (0.1 = one micro).
  4. Read the Pass Rate The simulator replays the current edge (or loaded portfolio) through thousands of shuffled sequences of real trading days, quiet days included, and reports how often it passes, fails, and how long each takes.

Upgrade to Pro

Pro

All sixteen markets, the NinjaTrader indicator, billed monthly.

  1. Open the Pricing /pricing, or click any locked market inside the tool.
  2. Choose Pro Checkout runs on Stripe. Card details never touch our servers.
  3. Return to the Tool Your account is upgraded the moment payment completes. If a locked market still shows a lock, reload once.

Monthly is the only cadence; there is no yearly plan. The price you sign up at is the price you keep.

Change or Cancel a Subscription

Pro

Everything billing-related is on your account page.

  1. Open Account Top-right of the tool → your email → Account, or /account.
  2. Manage Billing Update the card, download invoices, or cancel. Upgrading from Pro to ORBit is done with Get ORBit on the pricing page or in the tool. A cancellation runs to the end of the paid period — nothing is cut off early.

Report a Critical Bug

Pro

Account → Bounty Hunter. A confirmed critical bug earns one free month.

  1. Open Bounty Hunter Account page → Bounty Hunter. It is open to active paying members.
  2. Describe the Bug Critical bugs only: wrong statistics or trades, an EA or Algo trading off its edge, billing or access holes, security holes. Add a screenshot if it helps.
  3. Wait for the Review We email you the decision. Only the first report of a bug is rewarded, with one free month per member.

Get Your Discord Roles

Pro

Connect once, then claim your role inside Discord — Pro with the Pro plan, ORBit with the ORBit plan.

  1. Connect Account page → Connect Discord. Authorise the app when Discord asks.
  2. Claim the Role In the Discord server: server name → Linked Roles → Pro (or ORBit with the ORBit plan) → claim. Discord does not grant it on its own; this step is required once. Your role follows your plan by itself: upgrade to ORBit and the ORBit role replaces Pro.
